Bay Area working women, gender-expansive folks, and grassroots women’s organizations unite for International Working Women’s Day at San Francisco Civic Center on March 8, 2024.
In the spirit of the first women’s strike in New York City in 1908, this year’s march and rally upheld the legacy and power of women’s resistance from the United States to Palestine. Organizers demanded an end to Israel's genocidal attacks on Palestinians in Gaza, emphasizing the connection between the liberation of Palestine and the liberation of all oppressed peoples worldwide.
The “International Working Women’s Day. Third World Women Resist” march and rally was co-organized by GABRIELA Oakland, Palestinian Feminist Collective, Mujeres Unidas y Activas, Alliance of South Asians Taking Action, Grassroots Global Justice, Philippine Solidarity Task Force, Survived & Punished, Trabajadores Unidos Workers United, and the U.S. Palestinian Community Network.
